In carbon capture and storage (CCS) we have worked with CO2 for enhanced oil recovery in both the US and the UK. We are a founding member of the UK's Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) and the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute (GCCSI). We are active in CCSA work groups and elected on to the CCSA Board. We are represented as Chair of the Energy Industries Council CO2 Forum and support the Energy Institute's work groups, including part authoring the Energy Institute guidelines on risk assessment and plant design for CCS, including pipeline design.

AMEC's study and research work includes the CASSEM R&D study on saline formations and the interactions with transport and capture, plus CO2 network design and network initiation and tariffs in various locations. AMEC also contributed to the Zero Emissions Platform sub group work on CO2 transport costs.
